Prophet Elvis Mbonye has weighed in on the ongoing conflict in Goma, the troubled eastern city of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), declaring that the violence will ultimately pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
In a recently shared prophecy from January 6, 2015, the leader of Zoe Ministries recounted a divine revelation regarding the war in eastern DR Congo.
"I saw another emergence of war in the eastern part [of the DR Congo], and then it again began affecting our land. I felt good about it, so I wondered, how can I feel good about this war?" he recalled.
According to Prophet Mbonye, the Lord revealed to him that this conflict would mark the final chapter of the long-running unrest in the region.
"It shall be totally dealt with," he said in a prophetic update shared on his YouTube channel on Friday, January 31. "We shall actually have some from within and foreign powers. And there shall be a cleanup around there."
His pronouncement comes amid heightened tensions between the Congolese military and the M23 rebel group, a conflict that has now drawn in a host of international players and mercenaries.
Both sides continue to trade blame for the escalation, as political analysts express skepticism over any prospects for a peaceful resolution.
